Uniform Motion Example 2 Back to the casa
A Particle moves along the x-axis in such a way that its position at time t is given by x(t)= (1-t)/(1+t). What is the acceleration of the particle at time t=0?

1. First take the derivative of the function
Use quotient rule to get -2/(1+t)^2

2. Take the 2nd derivative of the function
Use Quotient or chain rule to get (4+4t)/(1+t)^4

3. Find a(0)
Then you find that a(0)=4

x''(0)=4/1=4
